Under The Hood

This is the place to get detailed information about our regional ministry plans.

Although the ten new Saddleback Regional Campuses are the main component of our 2010 goals, we’re also trying another gathering called Saddleback SOMEWHERE. You can read about the nut-and-bolts of both approaches below:

Saddleback Regional Campus

A Saddleback Regional Campus is a localized Saddleback congregation in your area.

Think of it as a start-up church of 400 to 1500 attendees that includes the core Saddleback elements you’ve come to love: inspiring worship services, creative programs for children and students, and small groups to join. Each Campus is lead by a pastor and resourced to meet the congregational needs.

Where and When?

The next Saddleback Regional Campuses will be located in CORONA and IRVINE. Dave Greene will be leading the Corona campus, and Erin Kerr will be leading our Irvine campus.

Saddleback SOMEWHERE

A Saddleback SOMEWHERE gathering is a weekend service in a home setting.

This is ideal for people who are excited about reaching their friends and neighbors-- people who are willing to try something new because they feel God’s leading.

Imagine a core group of about twenty people gathering together weekly. These people can invite others to experience a Saddleback weekend service without leaving their neighborhood. Saddleback SOMEWHERE can happen anywhere: a living room, backyard, garage, or community center -- just grab some people and gather SOMEWHERE. Get creative!

The goal is to build momentum, not a monument. Monuments are built to last and stand the test of time, but building momentum is seasonal--it comes and goes. When you commit to a Saddleback SOMEWHERE, it may be for only four to six months. When it is complete, everyone in your gathering can begin attending a Saddleback campus, while others will catch the vision and start their own Saddleback SOMEWHERE. These gatherings are meant to be a tool in building relationships while giving the un-churched a taste of what Saddleback Church has to offer.

For the first six months, we’re going to BETA TEST this idea. Since there are still a couple of openings available let us know if you live within 30 minutes of Lake Forest and are interested in testing this idea with your small group. Please email Matt McGill at mattm@saddleback.net for more information or click here.
