Questions & Answers

This is the place to find answers to some of the questions we've been hearing in regards to the regional ministry. If you have a question that isn't answered here, email us at mattm@saddleback.net.

Who’s responsible for the regional ministry?

Who can I contact with questions and ideas?

Matt McGill is the pastor responsible for the regional campus ministry. He’s also the one who wrote everything for this website, so if you find any typos, it’s his fault. He also finds it very strange to write about himself in the third person, so, he’s going to switch to first person in the next paragraph.

I’ve been at Saddleback since 1995, and have spent most of my time in the high school ministry. I’m married to Misha and have five wonderful, energetic, and fantastic boys: Max (7), Marc (6), Morgan (1), Miller (<1), and Mac (due in November). Other than spending time with my family, I love to read science fiction and watch movies. I also love the Old Testament more than most people I know.

I’m thrilled to be leading this area of our church. By thrilled I mean exhilarated and scared at the same time! God is leading us into exciting places, and I know that getting there is far beyond my abilities and skills. It's not difficult to remember that it's not about me.

I am responsible for designing our regional campus strategy, implementing our plans, and overseeing each of our campuses. If you have a question about our regional ministry, please let me know at mattm@saddleback.net.

There is someone else that I want you to meet, Linda Vujnov (think rhino with a "v" vine-o). Linda and her husband Greg have four children Maddy (15), Zac (13), Ty (8), and Carson (6). Linda was in the field of education for 20 years and did everything from substitute teaching and teaching full-time, to working as a university supervisor.

She and her husband Greg served as volunteers in high school ministry at Saddleback for twelve years with a stint in college ministry. During that time, Linda also ministered directly to the junior high students through a part time, interim position.

She has now returned to Saddleback Church as the full time coordinator, helping to launch our regional campuses. When she isn't perusing purchase lists or deciphering city demographics she enjoys jogging, blogging, and ministering to moms through her speaking and writing. She is a first time author, and her humorous devotional for moms, Spilt Milk, is set for release in April 2009 with Zondervan Publishing.

What is a regional campus?

Saddleback Church is ONE church that meets in  many locations. Each regional campus is a localized Saddleback congregation in an area beyond Lake Forest. Think of it as a start-up church of 400-1000 attendees that include the core Saddleback elements you've come to love: inspiring worship services, creative programs for children and students, small groups to join, class 101, opportunities to get baptized, and exciting activities.

Each campus is lead by a pastor and resourced to meet the congregation needs with encouraging full and part time staff as well as hundreds of volunteers. These campuses function just like Saddleback Lake Forest only in a different community.

Why do you have a regional campus ministry?

Our regional ministry exists because of the great commission. We're launching new Saddleback campuses beyond Lake Forest to reach our world for Jesus. Our regional ministry isn't about making worship services more convenient for our members, it's about empowering them to reach their family, friends, and co-workers.

Attending a regional campus captures the essence of Saddleback, Lake Forest while providing a smaller, more intimate surrounding for our neighbors and friends.

What about small groups and other ministries?

Our regional's are each equipped with leaders and resources to help you get involved and connect at Saddleback. The pastoral team is there to help you grow in your faith, find a small group, get baptized, become a church memeber and take Class 101, and serve in a ministry.

How many services occur at the regional campuses?

All of our regional locations meet on Sunday mornings. They have two convenient service times, 9:00 and 11:00. If you would like more information about a specific regional campus please visit their website:

What if I am already a member of Saddleback Lake Forest? May I attend a regional campus?

Of course! We consider all of our campuses, Saddleback Church - located in another city. Just like some people enjoy visiting a different venue at our Lake Forest campus, we are located in another city, in a different building, but we are still Saddleback Church.
