The Saddleback Disaster Relief Team has a three phase church to church response to Hurricane Katrina.  God has already placed Christian leaders and churches in all of the devastated communities hit with this tragic event. As we serve them, we want to help restore the local work of the church their ability to carryout.  As we help them rebuild, we will be working toward building a well balanced, interdependent community that is accomplished through the mobilization of the local church in and around the affected areas

Assessment Phase
Pastor Rick is taking a P.E.A.C.E. relief and assessment team to the area on Monday. This is our immediate relief response to those most affected by the hurricane. Pastor Rick's and his team will help lay the groundwork for how we will proceed, prepare and send out additional phase one and phase two teams.

Relief Phase
When Pastor Rick's team returns, the next step will be for Saddleback Members who can join a team to go and serve alongside the local churches.

Rebuilding Phase
People who want to help in any way they can through the long haul of the rebuilding process. These teams will be coordinated through the P.E.A.C.E. staff of Saddleback Church .

    Go
Serve hurricane refugees through a local church.

The Hurricane Relief teams from Baton Rouge , Jackson and part of Houston returned home by charter plane at 4:30pm today. All members are safe. The returning team members are excited to share their encounters with friends and family.

The Memphis team will be staying with their local partner church contact until their Sunday departure.

Some of the Houston team was unable to get flights out of Houston before the airport closed. They are safe. They will be staying with Fellowship of the Woodlands until the storm passes. We expect them home safely upon their original scheduled return flights on Sunday.

Please continue to pray for the relief work and all the people involved.
