6:45 – 9:00 pm Is Faith Legal in the Workplace? (NEW LOCATION - Tent 2)
-
What am I allowed to say about God to my coworkers?
-
If I’m a business owner, what rights do I have concerning the hiring of people whose values differ dramatically from those of my company?
-
I don’t believe the union I belong to is supporting just causes. Do I have to pay my dues?
-
How can I live out my faith before others at work without getting ‘in trouble’?
In our increasingly complex society, we need to be equipped with the right answers to these questions. Whether you’re a business leader, manager, teacher, doctor or office worker, you need to know how the law protects you as you make work decisions, and share and live out your faith at work. Join guest speaker Brad Dacus, Founder and President of Pacific Justice (PJI), for this informative and enlightening event!
After earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law, Brad devoted five years of his life to cases involving religious freedom and parental rights throughout the western United States, before founding PJI. Today, he continues that fight along with a network of approximately one thousand attorneys.
PJI, founded in 1997, handles more cases on the West Coast alone than any other organization of its kind. In defending churches and families so often targeted in our contentious, litigious culture with regard to property and free speech rights, among others, they enjoy a 90% success rate and are frequent co-sponsors of workplace seminars in churches, Christian colleges, and universities.
A recognized authority in his field, Brad Dacus is a frequent guest on “The O’Reilly Factor,” and has appeared on such radio and television talk programs as “Good Morning, America,” “The Today Show,” “Hannity and Colmes,” and “Dateline.” His network appearances include CNN, MSNBC, NBC News, and FoxNews. On two occasions, he has publicly debated the president of the ACLU, and once the president of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Brad has guest-lectured at Stanford University School of Law and has spoken at conventions throughout the nation.
Saddleback@Work is the workplace ministry of Saddleback Church and the mission is to equip, connect and send workplace believers into their area of influence. Helping you bridge the gap between your faith and your work and to live out your faith at work. If you have questions about your rights at work or the rights of others you may employ when it comes to expressing faith, Brad Dacus can help you find the answers you need.
